Sunday was another great day at Faith.  Once again we were blessed to see transformations take place as six came into relationship with Christ.  It never gets old and we rejoice with all of heaven with these who have made this new commitment!

I spoke on the subject of ‘knowing the person of Christ’ from the perspective of our annual theme, “Expectancy.”  We are adopted into the family of God and recognize that there are expectations to that relationship with run both ways.  Too often we can get caught up in only being one-sided in this relationship with heaven – of what God can do for me.  Yes, there are expectations of heaven of our lives, among which I shared about two basic areas yesterday – time spent with God and the giving of our time, talent and treasure (tithes & offerings) to God.

One of my friends and attenders at Faith, Todd Miller wrote me this morning about his devotions and some thoughts he had as it related to yesterday’s message.  I share it here by permission:

Mike,

My Scripture reading this morning just fit in so well with Sunday, that I thought I would pass it on.

I have been using "The Voice of the Lord" a messianic Jewish daily devotional off and on for the last several years.  It is enlightening to get a Jewish perspective on life's daily walk.  There is the daily scripture, along with one of several rabbi believer's [Rabbi’s who are Christian] perspective on that Scripture.

This morning was 2 Corinthians 13:5 - "Don't you realize that Yeshua the Messiah is in you?"  I thought immediately of Sunday, and that not only is God next to us through whatever we go through, he is "IN" us if we let him.  The commentary for this was this rabbi was visiting a synagogue that he hadn't been to in 20 years.  After the service, an old man came up to him saying that he remembered his grandfather.  The old guy started to say "you look more like" and he thought he was going to say his grandfather (a rabbi) because of his beard, but the old man finished with "Jesus Christ than any man I've ever seen."

How often do we forget that not only is God with us, but we are to show Christ to all those around us.

Talk to you later,

Todd.

Great word and a great work that’s continuing to take place through Todd’s life, AND so many others at Faith...
